How do you do with the first method of downloading movie from the Internet? I hope you’ve got some movie for this Easter long weekend. Here is the second method for you to download movie even faster and more reliable than the previous one.

2. Downloading movie using the intermediary hosts/servers:

This method is quite simple if you follow exactly my steps. However, if you want to understand this method deeply, you should prepare some basic Windows knowledge (I assume that you equipped it with you already).

Step 1: Prepare an Internet download manager software

Step 2: Download files combining software such as WinRAR and File Splitter & Joiner

Friends, just download these 2 recommended software and install them on your computers. Don’t worry, there is no hidden trojan/virus with these software. You can download them here

Step 3: Search Movie from forum

There are more and more people use forum/discussion board for communication on the Internet. If you have used forum before, you should know what to do next, right? Go and find some topics that give you download links for movie. For those who have no experience with forum before, here are what you should do:

• Register to movie forum to be their members. If don’t know any forum that have movie download sections, see my recommended list below. Remember to ACTIVATE your accounts with those forum by checking activation email and click on the activation link(s).
• Login with you username and password, and search movie by using the search function of those forums. (Find the Search box!) Got the movie yet? (If not, double check your search keywords). See example. Click on the topics that have the movie you want (Example movie list) and you will see some download links (Download Links Example). Copy each of them, paste on another browser window. Follow the instructions of those hosts. Most of the time you will have to wait for them to create download links for you. If you don’t want to wait. Pay fees for those hosts.

Step 4: Download files with your download manager software

Remember the download support software that you have just installed on your computers? Now it is the time for you to use it. Some of the hosts will let those program download files directly from them with free accounts, some doesn’t allow that. Here are what you should do next:

• Wait for the download button available, right-click on it, copy download link.
• Open your download software, paste download link. Click Start download.
• Repeat these steps for the rest of the download links from the forum. Remember that you have to download all the links for joining purpose later on.

Step 5: Joining movie files into 1 single file

The files that you have just downloaded cannot be open with any movie program. You will received error if doing that. The download files could be (part1, part2, …, part15) format or (001, 002, …, 009) format or (__a, __b, …, __k) format. Each of them you have to use different software to join.

WinRAR: used to join part1, part2, …, partN format. To join, right-click on any files, Choose Extract Here. (If the software asks for password, please double check the forum, the password should be provided by uploaders.)

Files Splitter & Joiner: used to join (001,002…) format and (__a, __b) format. To join, open the program and See this picture for the joining steps.

You are done!

If the movie cannot be open, you will need to download some codecs to watch them. Here are some of codecs, have one of them installed on your computers: K-Lite Mega Codec Pack, XP Codec Pack

All my friends recently have asked me that how we can download movie from the Internet. I answered them that I needed time to do research and summarize methods that people often use to download movie. And here is my report for my “research:”

There are many methods for us to download from the Internet. The 2 most common method nowadays are using peer-to-peer network software (such as Kazaa, LimeWire) and using intermediary hosts to down/upload movie (or any files).

1. Downloading by peer-to-peer software

I’m pretty sure that this is the easiest method that we can download movie from the Internet. Why? Because we only have to download the software (for free) and install them on our computers. After the installation, type any movie that your like in the search box. Boom! A list of movie from different hosts appears. Just click on any of the, click download and wait until the downloading processes complete. Yes, that’s simple.

Why are some people afraid of using peer-to-peer software?

There are several key reasons:

• It’s is too risky when downloading files from peer-to-peer network. Who can guarantee that your computers you are safe when some anonymous “friends” share their files to you? Most of peer-to-peer downloading users easily get virus/trojans/worm after they use peer-to-peer software if they don’t be careful. Because of your safety, I don’t recommend you to use those peer-to-peer software if you don’t have enough time and/or technique to protect yourselves from the risks of peer-to-peer networks.
• The speeds for downloading are really dependent on the number of sharing users. For example, at this moment, the P2P network has 1000 users sharing a 700MB movie with a speed of 350KB/s. However, after that, the number of users drops down rapidly to 100 users, which take you 10 times longer to finish the whole movie. That’s is not the worst situation. The worst one is 99% of the movie is done, there is, unfortunately, no users online/store that movie on their computers anymore. What can you do?
• The basic versions of P2P software don’t give us the relevant search results. We often get unwanted movie when we do a search. Most importantly, we have to spend more and more time just for searching, and then (sometimes) get nothing. If you want to get better result, buy pro/advanced versions. Nothing is for free indeed.

Because nothing is for free, you should know that the second method of downloading movie/files will costs you money. I will continue the second method in the very next post. You can check it later.
